Ulrike Klein

Founder of the Ngeringa Farm Arts Foundation, Ulrike Klein emigrated with her family from Germany to Australia in 1983.

In 1985 together with Juergen Klein, she founded Jurlique; they were pioneers in the field of natural and organic/biodynamic skin care.

In 1995 Ulrike created the ‘Jurlique Herb Farm Concerts’ to support local, interstate and international musicians. In 2007 Ulrike founded the Ngeringa Farm Arts Foundation which was granted the status of a Cultural Organisation in October 2010.

Through both the NFAF and Fischer Foundation Ulrike Klein is supporting the arts as well as community and conservation projects.

Thora Klein gibaud

Thora Klein Gibaud worked in the family owned business Jurlique for 15 years, as trend setter and market leader in organic/biodynamic skin care. Thora had a leading role in retail, human resources and training in both domestic as well as international markets.

Currently mother of three children, Thora is self employed working as a lifestyle coach and fitness mentor. From the age of six Thora has grown up playing an instrument and is very passionate about music.

Alison Beare


With over 20 years experience as an arts administrator, Alison is deeply committed to promoting Australia’s most outstanding musicians. She is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium High School and has a Bachelor of Music (Performance) majoring in cello from the University of Adelaide.

From 2007-2011 she was Executive Officer of the Australian String Quartet (ASQ) and in this role secured many national and international engagements for this prestigious ensemble. Alison also ensured the financial viability of the company by raising funds from the private sector and negotiating partnerships with major corporations including ANZ Private, BHP Billiton, The University of Adelaide and Rio Tinto.

Prior to her appointment, Alison was Concert Manager at the University of Adelaide from 1991-2007 and a Regional Arts Officer for Country Arts SA from 1988-1991.

In 2008 she was appointed by the Premier of South Australia to the Performing Arts Panel for Arts SA for a two year term. In February 2012, Alison will take up her new role as SA Manager for Artsupport Australia, which is a division of the Australia Council for the Arts.

Winnie Pelz
Trained at the South Australian School of Art in the 1960s and later at Edinburgh College of Art and Middlesex Polytechnic in London, Winnie’s first career phase was teaching visual art and textile design at secondary and tertiary level.

In 1974 she joined ABC TV Public Affairs as a television presenter/reporter and became ‘front person’ for This Day Tonight and Nationwide.

Her career in management began with the appointment as Executive Chair and Artistic Director of the Jam Factory Craft and Design Workshops in 1981, and progressed through several arts appointments, including Director of Policy and Programs and later Chief Executive of the Department of the Arts and Cultural Development (now ARTSA). She has also held senior management positions at St. Peters College Foundation, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and Santos Ltd.

Before retiring from full-time work in 2009, she was Chief Executive of Guide Dogs SA/NT Inc.

She has extensive Board experience, having served on numerous boards, both public and private sector. These include the Jam Factory Workshops Inc; Jubilee 150; the Adelaide Convention Centre; Film Australia Pty Ltd; the Australian String Quartet; the National Australia Day Council Inc; Channel 9 Telethon Inc; Adelaide Central School of Art Inc; the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and the National Library of Australia.

In addition she has served on numerous State and Federal Government working parties, and judging and selection panels, including the SA Rhodes Scholarship Selection Panel.

Currently she is a member of the CAS Hawker Scholarship Trust and a Board member of the SA Country Arts Trust, serving on the Governance Committee and Visual Arts Advisory Panel.

She is a practicing visual artist, with work represented in public collections.

Dr Roger Sexton AM
B.Ec (Hons), M.Ec. Ph.D (Econ), FAICD, FAIM, S.FFin, KSJ,C.P Mgr, C.Univ

Dr Sexton is a leading investment banker and company director with extensive professional experience in the Asia Pacific region.

He has served as a Chief Executive of a number of large organisations in the finance, funds management and
investment banking industries and has served on the Boards of a number of public companies and organisations
in Australia and overseas.

Dr Sexton is a Chairman of ASX listed company IOOF Holdings Ltd, Chairman of the Beston Pacific Group of Companies and a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board.

David Minns

David Minns is a partner in the mid-sized Chartered Accounting firm Jaquillard Minns, based in Adelaide.

He advises individuals, companies and other entities, covering a variety of industries, in matters relating to business management, finance, income tax, capital gains tax, superannuation, estate planning and philanthropy.

Ongoing Professional Development & Experience
David is a founding Partner in SuperGuardian, a leading provider of administration and advisory services to Self Managed Superannuation Funds. SuperGuardian services a national client base from its offices in Adelaide.

Building on his foundation as a tax advisor, David advises the shareholders and management of a range of successful businesses including chairing advisory board meetings.

As a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, David regularly attends training sessions to keep abreast of taxation law and practice.

David regularly attends the National Conference of the Taxation Institute of Australia and the Family Office Congress run by the Private Wealth Network.

Dr Michael Hayes
M.B,, B.S., FRACS, F.A. Orth A

Dr Hayes is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in arthroscopic and replacement surgery of the upper extremity. He studied at the University of Adelaide and attained his Undergraduate Degree and then continued to undertake Orthopaedic training in Adelaide and then, at Duke University, North Carolina, USA.

Throughout his career, Dr Hayes has been President of the Australian Hand Surgery Society and was a founding member of SPORTSMED SA Clinic and Hospital.
